Our flu vaccination clinics are due to start in September.
We will be prioritising our “at risk” patients first, according to Public Health England guidance, ensuring that those who are most at risk are vaccinated early.
These include those over the age of 65 those under the age of 65 who are in an “At Risk” group (list available on the Government website), and all patients over the age of 65.
If you are aged 50-64 and not in “At Risk” group, NHSE has stated the following;
“Individuals 50-64 may be offered flu vaccination under the NHS flu vaccination programme following prioritisation of other eligible groups and subject to vaccine supply”.
Therefore, If you are in this group, please do not contact the surgery to enquire about vaccine availability until early November. We may then know whether we are able to provide the vaccination.
Please remember that many local pharmacies offer a flu vaccine service at a small cost.
Due to the need for social distancing during the current pandemic, this year’s flu clinics will look very different, and will involve queuing. We apologise for the inconvenience this might cause and thank you in advance for your patience and co-operation.
