Ordering Repeat Prescriptions

You can order a repeat prescription in the following ways:

Please allow 2 working days for routine prescriptions.

If you are receiving medication which is not on the request form, please add this clearly on the request slip and it will be added after confirmation by the doctor.

Ordering online is by far the best way of ordering your repeat prescription from home and it reduces the chance of an error occurring during the process.

If you are not yet registered for online services, please use our Register for Online Services form.

Electronic Prescription Service

The Electronic Prescription Service (EPS) is a NHS service that allows us to send your prescription(s) directly to your chosen pharmacy. This paper-free prescription service means that you do not have to come into the surgery to collect your prescription.

You can ask for your repeat prescriptions to be sent to one of the local pharmacies, but this will take a minimum of two working days. Please use our Register for the Electronic Prescription Service form to sign up for this service.

We encourage all patients to register for this free service.

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines.  Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.

Prescription Costs

Please visit NHS: Prescription Charges for up to date information about the NHS prescription charge.

PPCs are available by ten monthly direct debit instalment payments. The prescription prepayment certificates allow anyone to obtain all the prescriptions they need. Find out more about the prescription prepayment certificate by visiting NHS: Prescription Prepayment Certificate.
